Spring 2024

date:

Maddie & Nich

couple:

Natural Elements

But what made this party truly unique was the presence of an actual ink-and-needle tattoo station! Not spray-on's or henna, this is proper permanent tattoo. The idea stems from the fact that both Maddie and Nich have unknowingly been visiting the same tattoo artist since before they made. She of course would have to make an appearance!

And what a party it was! If you are looking for a Sydney wedding venue with the best food, look no further than 12 Micron. From fresh seafood, sushi, oysters and caviar, a risotto station, cacio e pepe in a cheese wheel, custom cocktails and countless delicious canapes; they have it all.

As guests enter, they were greeted by a shelf which we have converted into a memory wall.  We built floral arrangements along the shelf on a base of salt (yes, salt) mounds, which has a unique colour and texture. The team experimented with 3 different grains of salt before founding one that would work.

An elegant welcome area then greeted the guests, in which we played with a combination of materials like custom-made aerated concrete pieces, mirrors, and anthurium flowers. We carried the same theme to the gift table and wishing well area.

As this was to be a cocktail party, there would limited table space. We opted for leaner arrangement on each table, but went big on design. We utilised a variety of different structural bud vases, accenting them with strings of pearl, fruit, and velvet ribbons. Some arrangements we propped up with stacked limestone.

They have chosen 12 Micron in Barangaroo as the setting for their engagement party. And as always,  we aim to reflect our couple's unique personalities through their wedding styling.

The concept for this event was 'Natural Elements'. It reflected our couple's genuine nature. On her left hand Maddie boasts an opaque uncut diamond ring (something she has always known she wanted, and Nich did a good job getting the memo!). They also enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors, both locally and abroad. And finally, their venue, the Waterman's Room in 12 Micron, is a homage to the nautical indigenous people who resided in what is present day Barangaroo. The venue's name alludes to a particular type of fishing line.

Maddie and Nich met in the depths of the Covid Pandemic, and little did they realise how much they had in common. From a lust for adventure, an extraordinary sense of humour, and a passion for sports -they were really made for each other.

What happens when two very authentic individuals connect and their zest for life compounds each other's.
